We are a team of vibrant creative entrepreneurs, skilled-makers and innovators who work together to identify, curate, and enable access to maker spaces. We develop innovative place-making initiatives which are designed at community level and are implemented collaboratively. Founded in 2018, our creative social enterprise serves a network of over 10,000 active residents, skilled-makers, creatives, innovators, change-makers, social entrepreneurs, and cultural practitioners who live and work in the Makers Valley and other parts of the globe.
For us, a maker is not limited to someone who makes or produces something. Makers can range from; performing artists, urban farmers, designers, innovators, and individuals who relentlessly pursue new ideas designed to solve societal problems on a very wide scale by making changes to the systems that undergird the problems; as well as inclusivity, towards overcoming spatial and economic inequalities. Moreover, makers continuously work on providing practical and local solutions to environmental, social, or economic issues, towards greater well-being for all.
Collaboration enables us to attract more awareness and direct support for the many local skills and assets nestled in our community. The various collaborative working relationships we have established have empowered our community to connect, engage and work together in solving some of the socio-economic and cultural challenges identified in our community. Our rawthentic approach has enabled us to make and maintain good working relationships with various individuals, government departments, institutions, organizations, networks, and communities in different parts of Africa and other continents around the world. Come MAKE your mark!
